After a particularly heavy summer storm, we walked down by the creek. We saw these delightful little pine cones (click on the picture to see them up close) that had been caught up in the rushing water. They looked pretty cool.
Then, of course, I shocked them all by letting them wade. They ended up so wet but had so much fun!
We went back a few more times when I had my camp chair and a book! We stayed for hours each times. After the initial scream and run was over, they started exploring what was in the water. There are minnows, water skitters, crawdads, insects, snakes, and all kinds of things to see.
JitterBug found a large crawdad. Fortunately, it wasn’t a snake in the water by her. 🙂
